Do you have any questions?

Want to know more about KOY Records?
Read on to discover more about our white label technology and some important facts about the music distribution business.

General information

To ensure that your release (single, EP, or album) is migrated to a new distributor while keeping its statistics intact across all music stores, it is crucial to upload it with the same metadata as before.

You should use:

  • Same UPC and ISRC codes.
  • Same artist names.
  • Same release title.
  • The audio must be the same, with exactly the same duration.

To locate your release metadata on KOY Records Digital, simply log into your account at https://app.koyrecords.com.com, head to the “Catalog” section, and click on the eye icon next to the release you wish to view information for.

  • Single: release of 1 song.
  • EP: release of 2 – 6 songs or with a total duration of less than 30 minutes.
  • Full album: release of 7 or more songs or with a duration greater than 30 minutes.

Remember that each release, be it a single, EP or full album, must have its own UPC.

How to find ISRC & UPC codes.

To view your ISRC and UPC codes:

1) Login to KOY Records Digital at https://app.koyrecords.com/login

3) Click on the “eye” on the release you want to see the codes for.

4) You will see all the data this release has been loaded with, including the ISRC and UPC codes.

Creating a cover of a song by another artist does not require a license for digital distribution

To ensure that the composer and lyricist receive their rightful copyrights, you must enter their full names and roles in the “Artists and Collaborators” field of the limbo music upload form.

Select the “This track is a cover” checkbox in the metadata editing section when uploading a cover. Do not indicate it in the song’s “Version” field.

To receive a shortened or Pre-save link for a release, please contact us at: support@koyrecords.com.

Our Quality Control team will assess your song that contains at least one segment from another song already distributed to music platforms, and whether is eligible for DSPs that utilize fingerprinting technology, like YouTube Content ID, Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, and Soundcloud Content ID.

Our automatic content recognition tool will identify these matches and promptly notify us once you submit your release for review.

KOY Records Digital is responsible for enforcing the rules of music platforms. Therefore, if a release was submitted to YouTube Content ID, Facebook/Instagram, or TikTok but doesn’t meet the requirements, it may not be delivered to these DSPs, but only to streaming stores.

The Start Time feature is to be able to pre-select a particular starting point for a song, and it is not available on Instagram.

When you share a song on Instagram Stories, it is the application that automatically defines the 15 seconds that are used, according to the most common use that the algorithm has detected.

As you probably already know, you can select the 15 seconds you want to use (or fewer seconds) by scrolling the song at the bottom of the screen.

It happens very often that there are two or more artists with the same name, and one of these two errors may occur:

1) Get your music uploaded to the wrong profile.
2) You detect in your profile music that does not belong to you.

  • If you are going to distribute your first release, we suggest you check the platforms before distributing that there is no artist with the same name.
  • If you distribute your music and an artist with that name already exists, platforms may not recognize that you are not that artist and will list your music on the wrong, pre-existing profile. It Will depends on the platform, not Limbo Music.

Can it be corrected?
Yes, but:
1) Not all platform corrects it.
2) The modification is not immediate. It may take time, maybe a few weeks.
